What happens if you combine Nature, Coaching and Exercise? You get a very powerful combination to relax, improve your mental and phsyical health and get insights while you walk.
Alhough we have moved from huts to houses, our connection with nature remains very strong. Its connection is wired in our DNA. Nature not only has a calming and soothing effect on us, it also can help us to be inspired and get new insights for our existing problems and challenges. And when combined with walking, we can even enhance this effect as science has proved that our body secretes endorphine, a ‘feel good’ hormone while we do exercise.
During the lockdown, having a walk or run near your house has been the only outdoor exercise allowed in Portugal. And I admit, although I like to slow down and connect with myself through mindfulness or yoga, walking was not my thing. But how wrong was I! I discovered so many new paths and inspiring places in nature nearby, that developed a deep admiration and respect for the natural beauty and forces. I see how nature evolves throughout the months. How it is patience and kind to us. I realised that the other way around is not that true and hope to increase awareness and appreciation about the importance nature has for us as a species and for all the other living beings in this world. After all, we are all connected, we are one living being together!
Having coaching sessions indoor, whether face-to-face or online, can feel limited and uninspiring. Especially these days, when we are in front of a screen almost all day, going outside and being provoked through powerful questioning, can give us that creativity boost we need to see new perspectives and come to new solutions. By slowing down, be in the moment and pay attention to nature and to yourself, you will increase your awareness to understand better what is going on in and around you.
